Trades and Maintenance
Skilled trades for repairs, projects and upkeep
Trade roles work differently from the rest of domestic staffing. Most are hired for a specific job rather than an ongoing monthly salary, and pricing depends on the scope of work rather than a fixed rate. What does not change is that these are still people entering your home, which is why we verify them to exactly the same standard as live-in household staff.
Who typically hires this: Homeowners handling repairs or renovation, landlords maintaining rented property, and households wanting a verified tradesperson rather than an unknown contact found at short notice.

Why Trade Pricing Is Quoted Differently
For cooks, maids and drivers, our placement fee is one month of the agreed salary because those are ongoing monthly positions. Trades are usually project work: rewiring a room, fixing a leak, building fitted wardrobes, repainting a house. Pricing therefore reflects the scope of that specific job, and we give you an estimate once we understand what the work actually involves.
Some households do keep a tradesperson on an ongoing retainer, particularly for larger properties with continuous maintenance needs, and gardeners in particular are frequently hired as ongoing monthly roles rather than per-visit. Both arrangements are available depending on what you actually need.
Getting an Accurate Quote
The more specific you are about the job, the more accurate the estimate. For an electrician, describe the actual fault or the scope of the wiring work rather than simply saying there is an electrical problem. For a painter, the number of rooms, the surface condition and whether furniture needs moving all change the quote meaningfully.
Photographs help considerably. Sending a few pictures over WhatsApp before anyone visits often turns a vague estimate into a firm one, and avoids the situation where a quote given blind has to be revised upward once the tradesperson actually sees the job.
Verification Still Applies to Short Jobs
It is tempting to treat a one-day repair as too brief to justify checking anyone, which is exactly the reasoning that leads households to let an entirely unverified stranger into their home. A tradesperson who spends four hours in your house has the same access as one who works there for months.
Every tradesperson we place goes through identical verification to our live-in household staff: identity confirmed against NADRA records, a police character certificate from their own local police station, and previous employers or clients contacted directly.
Common Questions
Do you charge a placement fee for a one-off repair?
No. Trade work is quoted against the job rather than charged as a one-month placement fee, since these are not ongoing salaried positions. We give you a clear estimate once we understand the scope of the work.
Can I hire a gardener on a monthly basis?
Yes. Gardeners are commonly hired as ongoing monthly roles, either full-time for larger properties or on a fixed schedule of visits per week, which is usually more practical than calling someone in each time the garden needs attention.
