Hiring a Cook, Maid or Driver in Okara: A Practical Starting Point

Okara's landowning and town-centre households have different needs. Here's how to hire properly in either case.

Okara's economy is agricultural at its base, and that means two fairly distinct groups of households looking to hire: landowning families outside the town centre with staffing needs built around a bigger, often multi-generational property, and a smaller but growing professional class in the town itself hiring for a more typical urban household.

We serve Okara's City Area broadly rather than a specific set of named societies, given the district's spread-out character. What both groups tend to have in common is that hiring has historically run entirely on word of mouth, and neither has had much reason to question that until recently.

Salaries are in line with what you would expect in a district city this size: cooks PKR 35,000 to 60,000, maids and helpers PKR 25,000 to 45,000, drivers PKR 35,000 to 55,000. For larger landowning households with more staff and more property to manage, expect the workload, and fair pay, to be higher than for a smaller town household.

We verify every candidate the same way no matter which kind of household is hiring: CNIC checked against NADRA records, a Police Character Certificate obtained from the candidate's own local police station, and reference calls made directly by us to previous employers. We are specifically listening for vague answers or references we cannot actually reach, either of which means the candidate does not move forward.

A written agreement is part of every placement, salary, pay date, weekly day off, leave, notice period, and for landowning households with more complex staffing arrangements we make sure the agreement is specific about which staff member is responsible for what, rather than leaving duties loosely defined.

We already keep a pool of verified candidates for Okara, so common roles are typically matched within 24 to 48 hours. Message us on WhatsApp with your role, whether you are on a rural property or in the town centre, and your timeline, and we will begin matching you right away. Every hire is monthly, direct, and comes with a 6-month replacement guarantee.
