Domestic Staff Hiring in Multan: Salaries, Verification and Timing

Multan's joint-family households have their own hiring patterns. A grounded look at what to pay and how to hire safely.

Multan households tend to be bigger than in Islamabad or Lahore, joint families are still the norm here more than in the newer capital cities, and that changes what "hiring a maid" actually means in practice. A single helper managing a household of twelve is a different job than one managing a nuclear family of four, and the salary conversation should reflect that from the start.

We work across Cantt, Wapda Town, Gulgasht Colony and Shah Rukn-e-Alam Colony. Cantt households, many with a military or civil-service background, tend to want formal terms in writing from day one. Gulgasht Colony and Wapda Town are where we see most of the newer, professionally employed families settling, often wanting live-in staff with proper accommodation.

Money first, since it is usually the first question anyway: cooks run PKR 35,000 to 60,000 depending on whether they are handling a small kitchen or a full joint-family one. Maids and helpers land between PKR 25,000 and 45,000, again scaling with household size and whether it is live-in. Drivers are PKR 35,000 to 55,000. For a bigger household, expect to be closer to the top of each range, not because of any Multan-specific premium but because the workload genuinely is heavier.

We are not going to pretend Multan hiring has always been this formal. Most families still find staff through a relative, a driver who knows another driver, someone from the neighbourhood mosque committee. It works, until it does not, and there is rarely a way to check any of it after the fact. What we add is simple but slow to do properly: NADRA verification of the CNIC, a Police Character Certificate from the candidate's own police station, and phone calls, not letters, to at least two previous employers. Anyone who cannot produce a real, checkable CNIC does not go on our list.

We also insist on a written agreement before the first day, salary, day off, leave, notice period. In a joint household especially, where more than one family member might give instructions to the same staff member, having the terms written down in one place avoids a lot of the confusion that otherwise builds up over months.

Given we already keep verified candidates on standby for Multan, most common placements land within 24 to 48 hours. If your need is urgent, say so directly and we will treat it that way. Message us on WhatsApp with your role, your area, and your household size, and we will start matching straight away. Every placement is monthly, hired directly by you, with a 6-month replacement guarantee attached.
